UXSS 2020 is a five day program organized by Stanford University’s PULSE Institute in collaboration with the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science at DESY in Hamburg, Germany.
The goal of UXSS 2020 is to disseminate information and train students and post-docs on new opportunities in ultrafast science, particularly using X-ray Free Electron Lasers. Lectures will be presented by expert scientists in this exciting new field. The attendees will be expected to participate in the discussions and will prepare a mock beamtime proposal with input from the instrument scientist for the Linac Coherent Light Source.
Registration is free of charge. Registration for full participants is now closed. However, for access to the lectures, you can still register.
The event is postponed as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19).
This one-day introductory workshop will be held in Lund by LINXS (Lund Institute of Advanced Neutron and X-ray Science) in conjunction with SXNS16. The workshop is aimed at students and scientists new to the surface x-ray and neutron scattering techniques covered by the SXNS16 conference.
The workshop will include a series of introductory lectures providing a technical grounding in key surface scattering techniques: reflectometry, grazing incidence small angle scattering and surface diffraction.
The event is postponed as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The conference is co-organized by the European Spallation Source and Max IV Laboratory and will emphasize novel techniques for surface x-ray and neutron scattering including instrumentation and source development. Topics will include in-situ and in-operando surface studies, nanostructured surfaces and interfaces, surface and interfaces in soft matter, biological interfaces, emergent interfacial materials, and dynamics of surfaces, interfaces and nanostructures.
