    11:00 -13:00
    Hotel Park Inn in Copenhagen
Hotel Park Inn, Engvej 171, DK-2300 Copenhagen S, Denmark

You, your postdocs and PhD-students are cordially invited to contribute to the 24-hour workshop “NNSP Capacity Building Networks – Engineering, processes and real-space imaging” within the NordForsk neutron program. A major part of the programme of the workshop will be based on the contributed abstracts and emphasize on discussion and networking, so it will be an excellent opportunity for you to present and discuss your activities within this topic, Engineering, processes and real-space imaging.

Neutron scattering is excellent in performing non-destructive in-depth imaging of materials and components. Diffraction provides an excellent tool for determining grains, texture, composition and microscopic strain. Scattering is used to investigate complex flow, phase separations, sintering, welding and other engineering processes. During a 24-hour workshop from lunch to lunch we will bring together academia and industry from the Nordic and Baltic countries working within the field connecting research communities across the region to build critical mass. Focus will be on topics related to the two engineering and imaging instruments at ESS; ODIN (https://europeanspallationsource.se/instruments/odin) and BEER (https://europeanspallationsource.se/instruments/beer)

    Topics for discussion

    • Neutron imaging and diffraction for in-situ/in-operando analysis of engineering materials and processes
(complex flow, phase separations, sintering, welding etc.)
    • Neutron imaging and diffraction for in-situ/in-operando analysis of energy materials and components (batteries, fuel/electrolysis cells, solar cells etc.)
    • Imaging and diffraction for determination of microstructure, grains, texture, composition, pores
    • Imaging and diffraction for determination of strain
    • Imaging of magnetic fields
    • Sample environments for in-situ/in-operando neutron imaging within engineering

    All day
    Danish Industry
    Danish Industry, H. C. Andersens Boulevard 18, DK-1787 Copenhagen V, Denmark

We are delighted to invite all LINX members to our LINX workshop where we will present our latest results and fuel the networks.

    Keynote speaker
We are happy to announce our two keynote speakers:

    • Prof. Bo Brummerstedt Iversen, leading the first scientific lighthouse in Denmark
    • Board member Jakob Schmidt, on the industrial value of LINX R&D activities

We have planned the event, so you get plenty of time and opportunity to network and discuss with members, project partners and invited guests.
The facilities at DI make a perfect framework for contact during lunch and coffee breaks.

    Activity of your interest
This year we will arrange three workshop breakouts with the aim to facilitate bespoken interests of the participants:

    • Using neutrons and X-rays in the food and ingredients industry
    • Collaborative industrial innovation – meeting the grand challenges
    • Large scale facilities – what is on offer and what does industry need?

    LINX projects
The different project activities have made interesting progress and results. We will present the best ones from the six focus areas:

    • Colloid materials
    • Drug discovery
    • Sorption of liquids and humidity
    • Fiber structure and dynamics
    • Materials at operating and processing conditions
    • Quality Assurance
